The Shipjackers are a scavenger band of starship thieves. Acting like a pack of gundarks they surround vulnerable freighters and other large ships and slowely force them to surrender under heavy blaster fire. They thrive off of salvaged starship parts and consider themselves a loose confederation for the purposes of coordinating attacks. They will even try to steal starships that are inadiquately defended while they are parked on the ground. Some trade parts with other Shipjackers to improve or modify their own starfighters. Rumor has it that they have a secret asteroid base in orbit around the planet where they lay in wait. Shipjackers are just one of many threats that make space travel perilous to and from Tython.
